Summer in the Psalms

Beginning June 1, you are challenged to read a psalm a day!

The Book of Psalms is actually a collection of prayers, liturgies, poems, and songs curated from many authors over many years. Throughout the eras, these words of encouragement and worship have been used by individuals, communities and kings.

There are only 150 psalms, and as one is read each day, by the time we get to Reformation Sunday we will have shared together the words of prayer, song, lament and praise that has sustained believers for centuries.

  • June: Psalms 1-30
  • July: Psalms 31- 61
  • August: Psalms 62-93
  • September: Psalms 94-124
  • October: Psalms 125-150

Call Committee Update

The Call Committee is wrapping up the completion of a very extensive (12+ page document) Ministry Site Profile (MSP) which will be used to communicate the details of our congregation and community to potential Pastoral candidates. Once the MSP is completed in April, the committee will meet with Rev. Bob Abrams from the Southern Ohio Synod for training on the Call process. That meeting is scheduled for early May. Any potential candidates will have visibility to our open position after the training session with Rev. Abrams.

During the candidate review and selection process, the Call committee is instructed to keep the names of candidates strictly confidential to committee members in order to protect the privacy of the candidates. Once the committee has selected the best candidate, the Church Council will vote, followed by a “Meet and Greet” with the congregation and a congregational vote.

Please reach out to any Call Committee members if you have any questions about the process. The members are: Akio Wiese, Don Raabe, Jane Krumpe, Jen Green, John Perkins, Lindsay Stevenson, and Rich Bretz.
