Seeking Church Choir Accompanist

Need a part-time gig? Faith Lutheran Church and Campus Ministry is seeking a new Church Choir Accompanist.

Duties/Pay:

  • Accompanying weekly Thursday evening rehearsals, 7-8pm.
  • Accompanying weekly Sunday morning warmup, 9:30 a.m., with worship service from 10-11am.
  • We sing different genres of choral pieces and typically work 4-6 songs per rehearsal. For Sunday morning worship we typically sing one. On special occasions we might sing two.
  • $100 per week.

Seeking Church Organist

Faith Lutheran Church and Campus Ministry is seeking a new Church Organist. The Organist will provide musical support for worship services throughout the year as needed. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Leadership 
    • Schedules Summer and special music throughout the year. 
    • Collaborates with Pastor for special services such as Christmas Eve, Holy Week Services and Easter Sunday. 
    • Plans appropriate preludes and postludes for the Sundays and offers support/ ideas for hymn variations. 
    • Plays some church services on piano, as appropriate. 
    • Plays for funeral/memorial services for members of the congregation. 
  • Administrative 
    • Notifies the Pastor when he/she plans to be absent from a rehearsal or service.
    • Maintains a calendar of organist/accompanist availability per service and schedules the musician responsible for each service. 
    • Attends Worship Committee meetings. 
  • Music and Instruments – Newly refurbished Schlicker Pipe Organ and Yamaha 6’ Grand Piano
    • Serves as primary custodian of the organ and piano. 
    • Has access to the instruments for rehearsal and may use the instruments to give private lessons. 
  • Reporting Structure & Compensation 
    • This contract position reports to the Pastor. 
    • Weekly salary of $200 as determined by Faith Lutheran Church Council. 
    • Additional paid opportunities such as weddings and funerals.
